Birmingham Stallions at Pittsburgh Maulers 5/29/22 - Usfl Picks & Predictions

The first game of a week seven USFL Saturday doubleheader will feature a matchup between the Birmingham Stallions and the Pittsburgh Maulers. The Stallions (6-0) are the lone winless team in the league and have amassed the most points (162) for head coach Skip Holtz. Last week, Birmingham scored the final 14 points to pull away for a 33-17 victory versus Pittsburgh.
Former Alabama RB Bo Scarbrough plowed his way to 105 yards rushing and a score on 16 carries. Osirus Mitchell hauled in four passes for 63 yards and a touchdown for the Stallions.
The Pittsburgh Maulers have dropped five of their first six games and rank last in the league in scoring (12.6 ppg). On Sunday, Pittsburgh was limited to three points through the first three quarters of a 26-16 loss against New Orleans. The Maulers (1-5) turned the ball over twice and managed just 83 yards rushing on 33 attempts.
Pittsburgh QB Vad Lee rallied the team in the fourth quarter with a 22-yard touchdown pass to Bailey Gaither. Lee brought the Maulers to within 23-16 on a four-yard rushing touchdown with just over five minutes remaining.
For as bad as Pittsburgh has been this season, the defense ranks fifth in the league in scoring defense (20.5 ppg). The Stallions will be able to control the clock with their running game and I expect this game to stay under the total. Final Score Prediction, Birmingham Stallions win 23-10.
