In the quarterfinals of the 2022 WTA Miami Open, Naomi Osaka from Japan is set to play against Danielle Rose Collins from the United States.
Naomi Osaka has been phenomenal at her best over the past years and she enters this match in good form having looked very dominant throughout the Miami Open. In the previous round of the tournament, Naomi Osaka faced Alison Riske in a match that she won in straight sets. It was a dominant performance by Osaka as she won 90% of her service games and 3 return games to win the match with some ease. Prior to that victory, Naomi Osaka defeated Angelique Kerber from Germany. Osaka had an inconsistent 2021 season but she looks to be back to playing her best tennis at this moment in time. Osaka will hope to challenge for the title at the Miami Open.
On the other side of the coin, Danielle Rose Collins has also been playing well and she enters this match having won her previous match in straight sets. Collins is the number 8 seed at this event and she has looked very comfortable throughout her time in Miami. It has been a strong 2022 season for Collins as she made the final at the Australian Open. Playing on home soil at this tournament should also give Danielle Collins a boost as she is a Florida native. This is expected to be a tough match as Osaka is an elite player.

Looking at all the information, I am going to pick Danielle Collins to win this match. This should be a close match but in 2022, Collins has been the stronger player. Osaka is an elite player but I don't think she has the form required to win this match. I see Danielle Collins winning in 3 sets.
