Grigor Dimitrov vs. Stefanos Tsitsipas 10/5/02 - French Open Men Singles Picks & Predictions

Last Updated: 10/04/2020 at 11:11 AM ET

The 2020 French Open has reached the fourth round of the tournament where we will witness Grigor Dimitrov from Bulgaria facing Stefanos Tsitsipas from Greece.

Grigor Dimitrov received a walkover win in the previous round as his opponent retired at the end of the second set. Prior to receiving the walkover win, Dimitrov looked very impressive as the Bulgarian won both sets with some dominance. During the win, Dimitrov won all of his service games and 4 return games. In general, it has been a very good tournament for Grigor Dimitrov as he is yet to lose a set at Roland Garros this year. Dimitrov also played well at the Italian Open in Rome where he reached the quarterfinals. This is expected to be a more challenging match but Dimitrov should be confident considering his recent form.

On the other side of the coin, Stefanos Tsitsipas also won his previous match via the walkover method after his opponent retired midway during the third set. Stefanos Tsitsipas had to battle hard during the opening round where he won in 5 sets but it has been quite simple for the Greek following that match. Tsitsipas played well at the German Open last week but he has struggled at big tournaments in recent times with failures at the US Open and Italian Open. This is expected to be a tough match for Stefanos Tsitsipas as he is playing an elite player in Grigor Dimitrov.

This will be the first time that Grigor Dimitrov and Stefanos Tsitsipas will be playing each other at an ATP event.

Both Stefanos Tsitsipas and Grigor Dimitrov are elite players and with no prior head-to-head matches, we should be treated to a great tennis contest. With that in mind, I am going to pick Grigor Dimitrov to win this match. Dimitrov has been in better touch recently and I see the Bulgarian being good enough to make through this round.
