We have reached the semifinal stage of the 2022 ATP Miami Open in Florida. At this stage of the tournament, Hubert Hurkacz from Poland is set to play against Carlos Alcaraz Garfia from Spain. 

Looking at Hubert Hurkacz, the Polish superstar has looked very strong this tournament and he enters this match having defeated Daniil Medvedev in the previous round of competition. During the win, Hubert Hurkacz won 90% of his service games and was able to break his opponent’s serve on 3 occasions. Hubert Hurkacz has looked very strong throughout this tournament and having already defeated the top seed, the Polish player will feel he has what it takes to challenge for the title. It may be hard to stop Hubert Hurkacz in his charge for the title. 

On the other side of the coin, Carlos Alcaraz Garfia has also had a good tournament with his big win taking places in the third round where he defeated Stefanos Tsitsipas. Garfia won his previous match in 3 sets. It was a close match but Carlos Alcaraz Garfia was able to win big points to take the match away. Carlos Alcaraz Garfia has been in outstanding form as he recently won the Rio Open and made the semifinals at the Indian Wells Masters. With that in mind, Carlos Alcaraz Garfia is only 18 and it is still unclear whether he has the experience needed to win a big tournament like the Miami Open. 

This will be the first time that Carlos Alcaraz Garfia and Hubert Hurkacz will be playing each other at an ATP event. With no prior head-to-head matches, it should mean that both players will be able to play with freedom as they face each other.
