Australian tennis superstar Ashleigh Barty is set to play at the 2020 WTA Qatar Open in Doha. Barty will begin her tournament in the second round against Laura Siegemund from Germany.
Ashleigh Barty received a bye in the opening round due to her high seeding. The last tournament that Ashleigh Barty played was the Australian Open where she failed to win the title but performed well enough to make the semifinals. During the Australian Open, Barty defeated the likes of Elena Rybakina and Petra Kvitova. Barty was eventually defeated by Sofia Kenin and while it was a disappointing outcome, the Australian superstar will feel she is in good form. It has been a strong 2020 season for Barty as she started the year by winning the Adelaide International. Barty is looking in good touch and that will make her tough to beat in this tournament.
On the other side of the coin, Laura Siegemund having won her previous outing in straight sets. It was a comfortable win for Siegemund as she won 88% of her service games and 5 return games.
