Alexander Zverev vs. Laslo Djere 6/4/21 - French Open Men Singles Picks & Predictions

Last Updated: 06/03/2021 at 8:03 AM ET

German tennis superstar Alexander Zverev has made it into the third round of the 2021 ATP French Open at Roland Garros in Paris. At this stage of the tournament, Alexander Zverev is set to play against Laslo Dere from Serbia.

Laslo Dere enters this match having defeated Miomir Kecmanović in the previous round. It was an epic 5 set victory for Laslo Dere. Laslo Dere lost the opening 2 sets but fought back strongly to win the final 3 sets and the match. It has been a tough few months for Laslo Dere as he has struggled since the start of the Monte Carlo Masters but he enters this match following a few good results. That being said, this is expected to be a very tough match for Laslo Dere as he is playing against the number 6 seed in Alexander Zverev.

On the other side of the coin, Alexander Zverev won his previous match in straight sets. It was a comfortable win for Zverev as he impressed with his receiving. During the win, Alexander Zverev won around 40% of his receiving points which allowed him to break his opponent’s serve on 4 occasions. Alexander Zverev is an elite player and he will look to make a huge challenge for the title considering his recent form which includes winning the Madrid Masters.

Alexander Zverev and Laslo Dere most recently played each other earlier in the season at the Mexican Open. Alexander Zverev dominated that match as the German superstar won in straight sets. During the win, Zverev won 6 return games which allowed him to have control over the contest.

Taking everything into consideration, I am going to pick Alexander Zverev to win this match. Zverev is the stronger player and he has been in outstanding touch over the past few months. There is a gap in skill between the two players thus I am going to pick Alexander Zverev to win this match in straight sets.
