Showboats vs Brahmas Picks and Prediction – 5/17/2025

The week eight UFL schedule will kick off on Friday night when the Memphis Showboats square off against the San Antonio Brahmas from the Alamodome. Check out all of our free UFL picks. The Memphis Showboats (1-6) started the season on a four-game losing streak and are stuck in last place in the USFL Conference. On Sunday, Memphis failed to convert on three fourth-down attempts during a 19-9 home loss versus St. Louis.

Memphis trailed 10-0 after one quarter, but made things closer on a five-yard touchdown pass from Dresser Winn to Jonathan Adams. Matt Coghlin nailed a 27-yard field goal and Deneric Prince added 44 rushing yards for the Showboats, who outgained the Battlehawks by a 273-257 margin.

The San Antonio Brahmas have surrendered a league worst 188 points and are currently trapped in the XFL Conference basement. The Brahmas (1-6) rank last in the league in just about every major defensive category and are being gashed for 332 yards per game. On Friday, San Antonio turned the ball over twice during a 32-24 home loss versus DC.

San Antonio drew even early in the second quarter on a five-yard touchdown reception by TE Alize Mack. The Brahmas took a 12-6 lead on two field goals from Tristan Vizcaino. On the final play of the first half, San Antonio QB Kevin Hogan fumbled on a sack that was returned 51 yards for a score. 

These two teams have been eliminated from postseason contention and will need to address the coaching instability that proved costly this year. After the first few weeks of the season, overs have been very profitable in the UFL. Look for a shootout to take place on Friday night and ride the wave.
