Wolves vs. Olympiacos 8/6/20 - Europa League Soccer Picks & Predictions

Wolves will play the second leg of the UEFA Europa League tie at home where they will host Greek side, Olympiacos.

Olympiacos had a strong end to their season and it resulted in the team winning the Greek domestic league by 18 points. Olympiacos won their previous match as the team defeated AEK Athens 3-0 at home. It was a dominant performance by Olympiacos as they controlled 51% of the possession and had 11 shots. It has been a strong few months for Olympiacos but the team must play well as it is tough travelling away from home in the Europa League.

On the other side of the coin, Wolves had a modest end to the season which saw the team finish in 7th position. There were some good performances but Wolves failed to produce the consistent results that were seen earlier in the season. Wolves failed to win the final game of the Premier League season as they were beaten 2-0 away from home by Chelsea. While the loss was not an unexpected result, the team would have hoped for better form as they entered this fixture. The last fixture that Wolves won was the week prior where they defeated Crystal Palace 2-0 at home.

The first leg of this contest ended in a 1-1 draw meaning that Wolves enter this fixture with the advantage of an away goal. It was a close contest with both teams sharing the position and the scoring opportunities. Youssef El-Arabi and Pedro Neto were the two players that scored during this fixture.

Looking at all the information, I am going to pick Wolves to win this match. Wolves are the stronger team and they have the advantage of playing at home which is huge in these big matches. Wolves look well placed for this contest and I see them being good enough to secure the win and a spot in the quarterfinals.
