West Ham at Southampton 12/27/18 - Premier League Picks & Predictions

Southampton have not been very steady so far in the season but are coming off back to back wins in their last two. They will now look to make it three in a row when they will play host to West Ham on Thursday. West Ham saw their winning streak come to an end last week at home but will have some important returns after injuries.

Southampton (3-9-6) actually played a really balanced match at home against Huddersfield over the weekend but were much luckier. They were already leading by two goals by the end of the first half and scored another goal at the 71st minute to eventually win by 3-1. That was their second consecutive win but prior to that they were win-less in 14 matches in all competitions (0-7-7). Southampton are now sitting at the 16th spot of the league table with 15 points, just three ahead of the relegation zone. West Ham (7-8-3) saw their four-match winning streak come to an end at home last week when they fell by 2-0 at home against Watford. They were much better in the first half but it was Watford who took the lead from the penalty spot, only to double that at the 87th minute for the final 2-0. That was also the first match out of their last five that they failed to score. West Ham are now sitting at the 12th spot of the Premier League with 24 points, nine ahead of Southampton. The Hammers have been quite competitive on the road so far (3-3-2) and are undefeated in their last four (2-0-2).
