Two teams that suffered shocking losses in the Carabao Cup against teams from lower divisions will now look to bounce back, when Bournemouth will play host to West Ham on Saturday. Bournemouth had won each of their previous two matches for the Premier League, while West Ham have generally been really solid lately.
West Ham (3-1-2) met a really bad 0-4 loss on the road against Oxford United in the Carabao Cup, but they did concede three late goals. Even so, last week they did a great job to beat Manchester United by 0-2 at home, which marked their sixth consecutive undefeated match in all competitions. West Ham are now sitting at the 5th spot of the league table with 11 points, scoring eight and conceding seven goals so far.
Bournemouth (3-2-1) also met a loss in the Carabao Cup mid-week, when they fell by 0-2 on the road against Burton. But last week they did a great job to beat Southampton by 3-1, a week after their 1-3 home win over Everton. Bournemouth are now sitting at the 6th spot of the Premier League with 10 points, scoring 11 goals and conceding 10 in the process. Their last four league matches ended with the same 1-3 or 3-1 scoreline.
