Liverpool are set to play their next English Premier League match at home at Anfield where they will face Watford.
Liverpool are still challenging for the Premier League title but remain in 2nd place behind Manchester City. As it currently stands, Liverpool have 69 points and are 1 point behind Manchester City meaning that they cannot afford to lose any points at the current moment. Liverpool enter this match having won their previous outing away from home against Nottingham Forest in the FA Cup. It was a close match but the Reds did enough to win with Diego Jota scoring the winning goal in the final 15 minutes of the match. Things are looking good for Liverpool but they must maintain their winning ways if they wish to remain in the title race.
On the other side of the pitch, Watford have been struggling this season as they try to avoid relegation. As it currently stands, Watford are 18th on the ladder with 22 points from 29 matches. The Hornets are in a lot of trouble as they are 3 points from safety but have played 2 more games than the team above them. That being said, Watford won their most recent match as they defeated Southampton 2-1 away from home. It was a strong win for the Hornets but they must win more often if they wish to remain in the Premier League next season. This is expected to be a tough match for Watford as they are playing an elite team in Liverpool.
Watford and Liverpool played each other earlier in the season with the Hornets hosting that match. It was a poor day for Watford on that occasion as Liverpool won that match 5-0.
