Watford defeated Tottenham by 1-2 at home earlier in the season, but Tottenham can now take revenge. They will play host to Watford on Wednesday, in the round of 32 of the Carabao Cup. Watford are coming off a hard-fought draw, while Tottenham returned to winning ways.

Tottenham had lost three in a row prior to their away match at Brighton this weekend. They really needed to get back to winning ways and did just that in a 2-1 solid win. Their defense has suffered this season, as Tottenham have only kept a single clean sheet in seven matches. To make matters worse, they will also be missing key goalkeeper Hugo Lloris who is something between injured and suspended. Watford were stuck at a 1-1 draw on the road against Fulham on Saturday, but they were really good. They took an early lead but were equalized later in that match. Prior to that they lost by a tough 2-1 at home against Manchester United. But Watford were excellent before that loss with five successive wins. They too have had troubles in the defense, as they have kept just two clean sheets in seven matches. Tom Cleverley will miss this match, while Gerard Deulofeu makes his way back from an injury.
