Vancouver Whitecaps FC vs. Seattle Sounders 9/17/22 - Major League Soccer Picks & Predictions

The Vancouver Whitecaps host the Seattle Sounders on Saturday in a MLS Western Conference fixture. Vancouver is 11th in the conference table at 10-7-14 on 37 points with a goal difference of -18. The Vancouver Whitecaps are coming off a big 3-0 victory over the LA Galaxy on Wednesday keeping their postseason hopes alive.  Ryan Gauld, Pedro Vite and Tosaint Ricketts each scored one goal for Vancouver.

Vancouver's three goals on Wednesday against LA Galaxy was only the second time this season the Whitecaps have scored three goals in one match. Lucas Cavallini has scored eight goals to lead Vancouver, while Ryan Gauld is second with seven goals. Cristian Dajome is the leader in assists with four, while Gauld is second with three. 

Seattle is ninth in the conference table at 12-3-15 on 39 points with a goal difference of +3. Seattle defeated Austin 3-0 at home in its most recent match last Saturday. Raul Ruidiaz scored a brace for Seattle with goals in the 12th and 34th minute and Ruben Gabrielson scored an own-goal for Austin giving Seattle its third goal of the match.

Seattle has been victorious in each of its last two matches, which is the first time the Sounders have done so since early June. However, Seattle has not won three consecutive matches all season, after doing so at least one time in each of its first 13 seasons in the MLS. Raul Ruidiaz is the leading goal scorer for Seattle with nine and Nicolas Lodeiro is the leader in assists with nine.
