The Vancouver Whitecaps host the Colorado Rapids on Wednesday in a MLS Western Conference fixture. Vancouver is 11th in the conference table at 8-6-11 on 30 points with a goal difference of -15. One of the victories was its last match played on the road when defeating the New York Red Bulls 5-4 on August 2, which snapped a road winless streak of 10 consecutive matches. Diego Rubio is the leading goal scorer for Colorado with 12, while Michael Barrios and Rubio are the leaders in assists with five apiece.

Colorado has not lost any of its most recent three matches against Vancouver with one win and a pair of draws. Colorado has three wins and three draws with only one loss over its last seven matches in the MLS.
