It’s now time for the quarter-finals of the Copa del Rey in Spain, where Getafe will host Valencia on Tuesday in the first leg. Getafe have been pretty solid in the start of the new year and are coming off a really solid win at home. Valencia are also coming off a win but they have struggled a bit lately.

Getafe did a stunning job on both ends of the pitch in their home match against Alaves last week and managed to win by an easy 0-4. They have now won three of their last four matches in all competitions and have lost just once in their last 11 (6-1-4). They are actually sitting at the 6th spot of the La Liga with 31 points, five ahead of Valencia. Getafe have been hit-or-miss at home so far in the season (7-4-1 in all competitions) and have won five of their last six. Valencia are coming off a pretty nice 2-1 away win against Celta in their last match, where they scored two late goals in order to overturn the result in their favor. That was their second consecutive win but those were their only wins in their last five (2-2-1). Valencia are now sitting 9th in the La Liga with 26 points and are still looking to enter the top-six spots. They have a 4-5-6 away record in all competitions so far and have won just once in their last six on the road (1-4-1).

Valencia won in this venue by 1-0 when the two teams met for the La Liga earlier in the season but Getafe won both matches last season and were undefeated in four consecutive (2-0-2). Getafe might have won just one of their last six matches as hosts against Valencia (1-4-1) but I am confident that they can remain undefeated here.
