The two rivals will now clash against one another in the first leg when Betis will play host to Valencia on Thursday. Both teams have been in solid form lately and will fight for a place at the final of the competition.

Betis fought really hard in order to reach the semi-finals of the Copa del Rey, as they had to overcome Espanyol in the previous round. After a 1-1 draw on the road they were left chasing the score in the second leg at home. But they pulled even and went on to score twice in the extra time to eventually record a nice win. Betis have been in really solid shape lately, losing just one of their last six matches in all competitions (2-1-3). They have also been great at home so far with just three losses in all competitions. Valencia also had quite a scare in the previous round of the competition, as they had lost the first leg by 0-1 on the road. They were down by 1-0 at home in the second leg but scored three goals in the second half to progress. Valencia have been in really great form lately, losing just once in their last seven (4-1-2). Oddly enough, Valencia lost just one of their first nine away matches in the season but have won just one of their last eight since then (1-5-2).
