France have been really strong in their warm-up friendlies ahead of the World Cup and will now face their final test. They will play host to the rejuvenated national team of USA on Saturday in the city of Lyon, France. USA have been testing their youngsters in their latest friendlies, and results have been rather promising.
France were lucky with the World Cup draw, as they got Denmark, Peru and Australia in their group. Anything other that the top spot would be a massive upset, as France are also one of the top favorites to win the trophy. They played a really solid friendly against Italy last week, where they won by 1-3. The match was pretty balanced but it was France who got better shot selections. Coach Deschamps used what would be almost his starting squad in the World Cup, and there is a lot of talent there.
USA tragically lost to Trinidad & Tobago in the last qualifier and were left out of the World Cup. Following that tragic loss, USA parted ways with Klinsmann who was replaced by Dave Sarachan. He has completely transformed the entire squad, giving a lot of opportunities to younger players. USA will now slowly groom this generation of players to become the national team USA deserve. Players like Pulisic, Weah, McKennie, Wood and Lichaj are the nation’s future, and USA are doing great to give them experience at such a young age.
