Spain and Tunisia will play their final warm-up friendly on Saturday on Russian soil. Both teams will stay there after the friendly, as they are both in the World Cup. Tunisia are expected to stand back and defend on this one, as they simply cannot match Spain’s firepower up front.
Spain used an experimental line-up in their last friendly match against Switzerland, where the two teams were tied at 1-1. Spain took the lead at the 29th minute, but the Swiss pulled even at the 62nd minute. It was Spain who had the upper hand, but they were not very lucky with their shots. They will test their squad against Tunisia now, which will be a good warm-up for the challenge that is likely to be presented by Morocco and Iran in their group.
Tunisia have played two very competitive friendlies over the past couple of weeks. They actually held Portugal to a 2-2 draw when they came back from two goals behind, but their opponents were playing without Cristiano Ronaldo. After that they played for another 2-2 draw, this time against Turkey, which was a really balanced match. Tunisia are opening against England in the World Cup, and they will now have to face a similarly tough opponent in order to test their strengths.
