Saint Patrick's made a rather shaky start in the season, but they have been in great shape lately as they have won four in a row. They will now look to keep it that way, when they will be hosted by the Shamrock Rovers on Tuesday, who have won just a single match in the past couple of months.
The Shamrock Rovers (6-7-5) are coming off a really frustrating goal-less draw on the road agianst the Sligo Rovers. They actually had the upper hand throughout the whole match, and even though they created numerous scoring chances, they failed to score a single goal. They have not been in very good form lately, as they have won just one of their last ten matches (1-5-4), keeping just three clean sheets in the process. The Rovers are now sitting at the 6th spot of the Premier Division with 23 points, seven ahead of the relegation zone.
Saint Patrick's (9-6-3) have been on fire lately, and are coming off yet another really strong performance. They played host to Derry City who actually took the lead twice in the first half, but Saint Patrick's had already overturned the lead in their favor by the end of the first half, before scoring two more goals in the second for the final 2-5. They have now won four in a row (including a match against the Shamrock Rovers). Saint Patrick's are now sitting at the 4th spot of the league table with 30 points, just three points behind the 3rd spot that grants entrance to the Europa League qualifiers.
