Spanish Copa del Rey Semi-Final Second Legs: Best Bets – Odds, Predictions & Picks

The 2019/20 Copa del Rey has dished up plenty of surprises along the way, and we are now left with just four teams. With El Clasico pair Real Madrid and Barcelona both out of the competition, Athletic Bilbao and Real Sociedad will be confident of setting up an all-Basque final this season. But both sides still have work to do in the second legs of the semi-finals.

Here are the best bets for this week’s Copa del Rey fixtures.

Mirandes vs. Real Sociedad – 3/4/20

Real Sociedad head into this game with a 2-1 advantage from the first leg. Mikel Oyarzabal and Martin Odegaard both scored at the Reale Arena, but a goal from Matheaus Aias has given Mirandes a glimmer of hope. However, Mirandes haven’t been in good form lately. The second-tier side have failed to win any of their previous six games in all competitions and a nine-game winless run in the league has seen the club drop to 11th in Segunda Division.

On the other hand, Sociedad have won their last five games in all competitions. Three consecutive wins in La Liga mean Sociedad are up to 6th in the top-flight standings – just three points behind third-place Sevilla. Sociedad have also kept three clean sheets in their past five league games, so Mirandes are likely to find it very difficult to break down Imanol’s side. Mirandes will put up a fight, but Sociedad’s top-flight quality should shine through on Wednesday.

Pick: Real Sociedad to Win – 1.73

Granada vs. Athletic Bilbao – 3/5/20

Iker Muniain’s first-leg goal is the difference between these two teams as they head into the second leg. But Athletic Bilbao will be disappointed not to be in full control of this tie after a dominant display in the first leg. Bilbao registered 23 shots to Granda’s five at Sam Mames, while the home side enjoyed 68% of the possession. However, Bilbao wasted numerous chances, and the score remains 1-0.

There is very little to separate these two teams in La Liga at the moment. Granada sit one place and three points ahead of Bilbao in the table, so the second leg is set to be a tight encounter. Having said that, I think Bilbao’s outstanding defensive record will give them the edge on Thursday. Only Real Madrid and Atleitco Madrid have conceded fewer goals in the Spanish top-flight this season, so Bilbao are likely to frustrate Granada. Odds of 2.88 for the Bilbao win seem too good to miss.

Pick: Athletic Bilbao to Win – 2.88
