Two teams that are getting ready for the World Cup will clash against one another on Monday, when South Korea will play against Senegal in a friendly match. South Korea have played a lot of friendlies without much success. Senegal have also failed to shine in their warm-ups, and both teams will have to be much better in order to be competitive.
South Korea are coming off a pretty mediocre attempt against Bolivia in a friendly match a couple of days ago. Of course they protected their key players in that match and only used them for a limited amount of time in the second half. They were much better than their opponents, but were stuck at a goal-less draw. South Korea have only defeated much weaker teams in their friendlies so far, like Moldova, Latvia and Honduras. However, they have appeared rather mediocre in matches against Jamaica, Poland, Northern Ireland and Bosnia & Herzegovina.
Senegal are one of my favorite teams to cause upsets in the World Cup, and they are in a group that can facilitate them. They are along with Poland, Japan and Colombia and they can potentially challenge one of the two top spots. However, they haven't looked very good in their friendlies so far, as they have failed to win any of the four they've played lately. In their most recent match they were up against Croatia, where despite their efforts they lost by 1-2. Prior to that they had three consecutive draws against Luxembourg, Bosnia & Herzegovina and Uzbekistan.
