Two teams that met last week are now clashing against one another once again, when Real Salt Lake will play host to the Seattle Sounders on Saturday. Real Salt Lake won the previous match in Seattle, while the Sounders are still at a boiling point right now.
Real Salt Lake (6-6-1) were engaged in a really competitive match against the visiting Houston Dynamo on Wednesday, where they eventually grabbed all three points in a 1-2 win. Despite the win, Real Salt Lake have been really inconsistent lately as they have lost three of their last six (3-3-0). They are now sitting at the 5th spot of the Western Conference with 19 points, six points behind Conference leaders Sporting Kansas City. Real Salt Lake have the best home record in the Conference (5-1-0) but have kept just a couple of clean sheets there.
Seattle (2-6-2) have been really terrible this season and are just unable to turn their ship around. They are coming off a tough loss at home against their very next opponents, which means that the Sounders have won just one of their last five (1-3-1). They are still sitting at the 11th spot of the Western Conference with 8 points, having scored just 7 goals so far, while conceding 12 in the process. They have been just as bad on the road (1-3-1), where they have yet to keep a clean sheet. The Sounders have been decimated by injuries this season, but they have a couple of players returning.
