NYCFC have been in tremendous shape for quite a while now and are coming into this match after four consecutive wins in all competitions. They will play host to Seattle on Wednesday, who just broke a four-match losing streak with a win over Vancouver.

NYCFC (6-1-8) got left chasing the score twice in their home match against Philadelphia but eventually won by 2-4. That was their fourth consecutive win in all competitions, as they are now undefeated in their last 13 matches (8-0-5). NYCFC have the fewest losses and the most draws in the MLS this season, and are currently sitting 6th in the Eastern Conference with 26 points. They are still undefeated at home (3-0-4). Seattle (8-4-5) needed a really late goal in order to win their home match against Cascadia rivals Vancouver by a slim 0-1 over the weekend. Prior to that they met a tough elimination from the US Open Cup to Portland and had lost four in a row. Even so, Seattle are still sitting at the 3rd spot of the Western Conference with 29 points, two behind the LA Galaxy. The Sounders have not had much luck on the road so far (1-4-3).
