The Earthquakes would like to start some rumbling in this game here and keep it going. The Earthquakes have won the last 2 games they have played in since losing to LAFC, but still find themselves sitting in 4th place in their division with a total of 44 points on the year. However, the Earthquakes have looked really impressive in their last 2 games and that should carry over into this game as well.
Chris Wondolowski is the starting forward and leading goal scorer for the team with 13 goals and 2 assist on the year. Valeri Qazaishvili is the second leading scorer for the Earthquakes as he has put in 8 goals on the year, but has managed to get 4 assist as well. The Earthquakes are scoring better with 48 goals on the year compared to other teams as they have only allowed 43 goals this season.
Real Salt Lake finds themselves coming into this game after losing a very close game to the Portland Timbers. However, the Salt Lake team did put up a battle in the game even if it did end in a loss for the team. In the game prior to that one the Salt Lake squad played the Rapids and managed to blank them in a 2-0 win.
Albert Rusnak and Sam Johnson have the goal lead for the Real Salt Lake squad with 9 goals each. However, Rusnak has managed to pick up 5 assist to go along with his goals. As a team the Real Salt Lake squad has been on the lower side of the scoring with 40 goals on the year, but the defense has allowed 35 goals which is tied for 3rd in the MLS.
The Real Salt Lake team and the San Jose Earthquakes are going to give the fans a great game here. However, both of these teams are fairly evenly matched on both sides of the ball with the Real Salt Lake squad having a slightly better defense, but they do not have the offense that can keep pace if they fall behind early on. Look for this game to be a close game, but it will tip in favor of San Jose, who does score a little bit better. Final Score Prediction, San Jose Earthquakes win 2-1.
