Sacramento Republic at LAFC 6/20/18 - US Open Cup Picks & Predictions

LAFC might have had an easy job in the previous round of the US Open Cup, but they are not in very good shape lately. They have actually won their last two matches, but they have been really struggling to be good lately. They will now play host to USL side Sacramento Republic, who eliminated the Seattle Sounders in the previous round.

LAFC easily went through the previous round of the US Open Cup, when they eliminated USL side Fresno FC by 0-2 at home. After a goal-less first half, LAFC scored twice in a three-minute span in the second half (53rd and 56th) in order to record an easy win. LAFC managed to defeat San Jose by a strong 4-3 on the road after that match, but those were their only wins in their last six matches in all competitions (2-2-2). LAFC are still undefeated at home so far in the season (3-0-3), with five of those matches having produced Under 2.5 Goals. Sacramento Republic had a seemingly hard task against the Seattle Sounders in the previous round of the US Open Cup. However, they were really good in that match, and took the lead at the 60th minute. They were holding on to the result, but were equalized at the stoppage time, as the Sounders sent the match to extra time. Even so, Sacramento Republic were the only team to score in the extra time, and effectively moved on to the next round. They have been in pretty solid form lately (2-1-2) and have won four of their last six on the road (4-2-0).
