NYCFC made a poor start in the season but they have been in tremendous shape in the past three months. They are coming into this match in really god form, as they will now host Philadelphia Union on Saturday. Philadelphia are having a great season but have struggled to get results lately.

NYCFC (5-1-8) are coming off a couple of great performances in the US Open Cup, where they beat North Carolina at home and DC United on the road. They have now won each of their last three matches and are undefeated in the last three months (7-0-5). NYCFC are sitting at the 6th spot of the Eastern Conference with 23 points. They have not lost a single match at home but they haven’t won easy either (2-0-4). Philadelphia (9-4-5) played a really balanced match on the road against New England, where the two teams split the points in a 1-1 draw. Philadelphia have not been in the best of shapes lately, with just two wins in their last seven matches in all competitions (2-1-4), also dropping out of the US Open Cup in the process. Philadelphia are still leading the Eastern Conference with 32 points though, two ahead of Montreal and DC United. They have been quite solid on the road so far (3-2-3) and are undefeated in their last five in all competitions (2-0-3).
