Two teams that will fight for the 2nd spot of Group A in the Copa America will lock horns on Saturday, when Venezuela will clash against Peru. Venezuela were horrible in the last official tournament they participated in, while Peru did a much better job and reached the World Cup.

Venezuela did a tremendous job in their most recent match, where they destroyed USA by a strong 3-0 in a friendly match. That win came after a three-match win-less streak (0-2-1) and it was just their second win in their last seven matches (2-2-3). Venezuela might not win a lot, but each of their last four wins came by at least a two-goal margin (one of those was a 3-1 against Argentina in a friendly match). Venezuela are consistent scorers, scoring in each of their last 11 matches, but their defense is a problem with just three clean sheets in that span.
Peru were quite solid in their World Cup run, losing marginally (0-1 and 1-0) to Denmark and France, while beating Australia by 2-0 in the last match of the group stage. However, they haven’t been very lucky lately, winning just three of their ten friendlies since the World Cup (3-6-1). Peru have a tendency to collapse after falling behind in the score, conceding at least twice in each of their last six losses. However, each of their last six wins came with a clean sheet which goes to show that if they are careful at the back they can get results.

The two teams split the points in both matches for the World Cup Qualifiers, and both were 2-2 draws. In nine matches with Venezuela as hosts we had seven matches with at least three goals and five matches with at least four goals. Both teams have defensive problems and it will not take much to see at least two goals here.
