The time has come for the quarter-finals of the US Open Cup, with four matches set to take place on Wednesday. In the first of the four, Philadelphia Union will play host to Orlando City with the two teams looking to move to the semis. Philadelphia Union have been in pretty solid form, as opposed to Orlando City who have been struggling hard.

Philadelphia Union played a really nice match against Chicago Fire last week, whom they eventually defeated by 4-3. They actually took the lead a whopping four times in that match, with Chicago only pulling even in three of those occasions. Philadelphia have now won three of their last five matches in all competitions (3-2-0). They are now sitting at the 7th spot of the Eastern Conference with 24 points. They have been quite strong at home so far (5-3-2), having also recorded a couple of wins for the US Open Cup. Orlando City are coming off a much-meeded win at home against Toronto FC. They were in really poor form prior to that, but they won much easier than the final 1-2 score suggests. That was the first MLS win for Orlando City since May 7th (0-9-0 since). They have been really bad on the road so far in the season (2-7-0), having scored just 8 goals against 24 conceded. Moreover, Orlando City have won just one of their last eight away matches in all competitions (1-6-1). That includes a win and a draw in earlier stages of the US Open Cup.

There is total balance in this match-up over the years (3-3-2). However, Philadelphia have slightly had the upper hand as hosts against Orlando City (3-2-0). Orlando City won't go down that easily in this match, so I will back them up to cover the spread here.
