Orlando City have been really bad lately but still have a glimmer of hope regarding the playoffs. It is a really hard thing to do, and they would have to win both their remaining matches, while three other teams lose all their matches. Orlando will now travel to Cincinnati for a theoretically easy match on Sunday.
Orlando City (9-14-9) took the lead in their away match against Houston but conceded twice in a three-minute span late in the match to eventually lose by 1-2. They can’t catch a break lately and are without a win in their last six matches (0-3-3). Orlando City are now sitting at the 10th spot of the Eastern Conference with 36 points, six points behind New England and the last playoff spot. But Montreal and Chicago stand in-between, so Orlando only theoretically have chances.
Cincinnati (6-22-4) played a pretty solid match at home against Chicago last week, where the two teams split the points in a goal-less draw. Cincinnati have the worst defense in the MLS with 74 conceded goals but have kept two clean sheets in their last three (1-1-1). Of course, they are still stuck at the bottom of the Conference with 22 points, and also the worst offense with 30 goals. They have conceded at least twice in 14 of their 16 home matches so far.
