Olympique Lyonnais at AS Monaco FC 5/2/21 - Ligue 1 Picks & Predictions

A huge match is taking place in the Ligue 1 on Sunday, when Monaco will play host to Lyon. Both these teams are considered title contenders as of Saturday, and this is going to be a huge match. Monaco have bene really great lately, while Lyon are coming off a couple of bad results that could have destroyed their season.
Monaco (22-7-5) are coming off a slim 1-0 win on the road against Angers. They have been in tremendous shape for quite a while now, going undefeated in their last 9 (7-0-2) and losing just once since late December (18-1-4). Monaco are sitting at the 3rd spot of the league table with 71 points, 1 behind PSG and 2 behind Lille (at the time of writing). Monaco have the best home record in the league (11-1-5), keeping clean sheets in each of their last 5 matches in all competitions (3-0-2).
Lyon (19-5-10) fell short in the title match against Lille last week, despite taking an early two-goal lead. They fell apart in the second half and eventually lost that match by 3-2 at home. That loss destroyed their title chances, leaving them at least 6 points behind Lille. However, the 4th spot that they are currently at leads to the Europa League qualifiers, and if Lyon win here they could find themselves just 1 point behind Monaco and the Champions League spots.
The two teams met a couple of weeks ago in the Cup, where Monaco won by 2-0 on the road. However, Lyon blasted Monaco by 4-1 in the reverse fixture back in October. This is a crucial match for both sides, but Lyon will be missing key-man Depay here. Taking Monaco with -0.25 here.
