Two teams that have been struggling mightily at the start of the season will lock horns on Saturday, when New England will host the Red Bulls. Both teams are sitting at the depths of the Eastern Conference but that can change. It’s a matter of who wants it the most.

New England (1-5-1) did not deserve to take anything form their home match against Atlanta United, as they eventually lost by a fair 2-0. They have been really bad so far in the season and have scored in just one of their last five losses. They are all hands down. New England are still stuck at the bottom of the Eastern Conference with 4 points, but just four behind the playoff spots. The Red Bulls (1-3-2) might have mixed feelings about their 2-2 draw on the road against Sporting Kansas City. Prior to that they had three consecutive losses, so that counts for something. The Red Bulls are now sitting at the 9th spot of the Eastern Conference with 5 points. They are on a triple tie with Atlanta United and New York City.

New England have traditionally been strong as hosts against the Red Bulls, losing just three times since 2002 (19-3-8). When it comes to head to head history, I tend to follow the trend. The Red Bulls traditionally struggle as visitors here for some reason. I will back the home team on this one.
