Atlanta United quickly returned to winning ways after that loss to Sporting Kansas City, when they escaped Orlando with all three points. They will now return at home for their next assignment, where they will play host to the New York Red Bulls on Sunday. The Red Bulls are coming off successive wins, and are looking to establish themselves in the top spots.
Atlanta United (8-2-1) did not sulk for long after that loss to SKC, as they defeated Orlando City by 2-1 on the road last week. They managed to score two quick goals by the 31st minute, and even though they conceded at the 57th, they easily held on to the win. They are still sitting at the top of the Eastern Conference with 25 points, having scored 25 goals against 13 conceded. They have been awesome at home so far (4-1-1), where they have scored 18 goals, against just 7 conceded.
The New York Red Bulls (6-3-0) are coming off a really strong win on the road against the Colorado Rapids. They took the lead at the 5th minute of that match, and doubled that at the 76th before conceding once just nine minutes later for the final 2-1. That was their third win in a row, and fourth in their last five, but they've kept just a single clean sheet in that span. They are now sitting at the 5th spot of the Eastern Conference with 18 points after 9 matches, seven points behind league leaders Atlanta United who have played two more matches.
