We have now reached the knockout stages of the MLS is Back Tournament. Following a memorable group stage, there are now just 16 teams remaining. LAFC is still the bookies’ favorite to win the tournament, although Columbus Crew is the only unbeaten team so far.

Here are the best Round of 16 bets for the MLS is Back Tournament.

Columbus Crew vs. Minnesota United – 07/26/20

The bookies clearly think that this will be a close game, but I’m not so sure. Columbus (2.25) cruised through the group stage with three straight victories, and the Crew didn’t concede a single goal along the way. So, why is the price for the Columbus win so high? On the other hand, Minnesota (2.80) only managed to win one of their three group games. Disappointing draws with Real Salt Lake and Colorado Rapids suggest that Minnesota is struggling to find their best form at the moment.

Pick: Columbus Crew to Win (2.25)

Seattle Sounders vs. LAFC – 07/27/20

Each of LAFC’s group games produced over 3.5 goals. In fact, their opening game with Houston produced six, while their thumping victory over the Galaxy produced eight. All the signs are pointing towards another high-scoring matchup here. Seattle netted three goals last time out, but their 2-1 loss to a weak Chicago Fire side proves that the team has defensive issues. LAFC hasn’t been solid at the back, either, so I’m expecting goals galore when these two sides meet.

Pick: Over 3.5 Goals – 2.00

Portland Timbers vs. FC Cincinnati – 07/27/20

Portland should end Cincinnati’s impressive run, but Jaap Stam’s men have shown that they can compete with — and beat — the best teams in the country. Nobody expected Cincinnati to get anything from their meetings with Atlanta and the Red Bulls, but the club ended up coming away with maximum points from those two games. Sure, it will be difficult for Cincinnati to beat Portland. But I can see the underdog holding out for a draw after 90 minutes. The price for the Portland win is at 1.83, while you can get odds of 3.60 for the Cincinnati win. Backing Cincinnati to avoid defeat at 1.90 seems like a good bet to me.

Pick: FC Cincinnati and Draw Double Chance (1.90)
