Portland have lost two in a row in front of their own home crowd, and will now look to put and end to their skid. They will play host to Minnesota United on Sunday, who are coming into this match after a really nice home win.

Minnesota United (14-10-6) conceded first in their home match against Real Salt Lake, but quickly got back on their feet and eventually won that match by 1-3. They have not been in very good shape lately, with just two wins in their last five matches in all competitions (2-2-1). They are currently sitting 3rd in the Western Conference with 48 points, two ahead of Real Salt Lake and two behind Seattle. Minnesota United have been quite solid on the road so far (5-9-1) but have won just one of their last six (1-1-4).

Portland (13-13-4) met their second consecutive loss at home when they fell by 2-0 against the Red Bulls last week. They conceded a goal at the start and another at the end of the match, which was pretty balanced in terms of scoring chances. Portland have now lost three of their last five (2-3-0) and are sitting at the 8th spot of the Conference with 43 points, one point outside the playoffs. Their home record is not that good anymore (7-5-2), having lost four of their last six there.

Minnesota United have won four of the last five matches against Portland, having hosted four of those. Five of the last six matches featured goals from both sides and at least three total goals. But Portland won both matches as hosts against Minnesota United, failing to keep a clean sheet. This is probably the safest match to go with the Over 3 Goals.
