Manchester City hosts Arsenal on Saturday on an English Premier League matchday 3 showdown. Manchester City opened its regular season with a 1-0 loss to Tottenham but bounced back with a solid effort in week two with a 5-0 rout of Norwich. However, Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola is still searching for a striker to replace the departed Sergio Aguero and are pushing hard to sign Tottenham’s Harry Kane.
Gabriel Jesus played well up front in the victory over Norwich with an assist at the No. 9 spot. With the signing of Jack Grealish from Aston Villa the Citizens remain one of the favorites to win the top flight English league. Grealish scored his first City goal against Norwich. Four players including Grealish, Riyad Mahrez, Aymeric Laporte and Raheem Sterling have all scored one goal for City.
Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta is on an early hot-seat as the Gunners are next to last in the top flight English league table despite spending a large sum of money during the summer transfer window. Alexandre Lacazette and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyand, two of Arsenal’s top forwards, have not yet appeared for the Gunners through two matches, which resulted in two 2-0 losses to Brentford and Chelsea.
Willian, who last season joined Arsenal, is looking to leave the club and Ben White, Arsenal’s top signing during the offseason will not play on Saturday against Manchester City due to an injury. Arsenal fans could not believe Arsenal lost 2-0 at home to Brentford, who was playing its first ever match in the Premier League.
