Sheffield United have appeared to be quite feisty lately but are coming off a tough loss in the Carabao Cup. They will now return to Premier League duties with an enormous task, as they will play host to Liverpool on Saturday. Liverpool are coming off a couple of wins in their last two matches and are looking to build a winning streak.
Liverpool (6-0-0) did a great job in their Carabao Cup mid-week, beating MK Dons by 2-0 on the road. Last week they were pretty effective in their away match against Chelsea, where they escaped with all three points in a 2-1 win. They have won all their league matches and that Carabao Cup match, but lost in the Champions League premiere to Napoli. Liverpool are leading the Premier League with 18 points, already five points ahead of Manchester City.
Sheffield United (2-2-2) suffered a tough elimination from the Carabao Cup when they fell by 1-0 at home against Sunderland. But last week they did a tremendous job to beat Everton by 2-0 on the road and have a 2-2-1 record in their last five matches in all competitions. Sheffield United are sitting at the 10th spot of the league table with 8 points, scoring seven and conceding six in the process. They have won just two of their five home matches in all competitions (2-3-0), with three of those having Under 2.5 Goals.
