A massive battle, but with no mathematical interest, is about to take place on Thursday, when Manchester City will play host to Liverpool. The two best teams in the Premier League will lock horns in this indifferent match, as Liverpool were just crowned Champions after City’s loss to Chelsea.

Manchester City (20-8-3) are coming off a slim, yet confident, performance on the road against Newcastle, beating them by 2-0 and moving on to the semi-finals of the FA Cup. Last week they fell by 1-2 on the road against Chelsea, a loss that mathematically locked the title for Liverpool. Manchester City are 2nd in the Premier League with 63 points, eight ahead of Leicester. They have a 11-2-2 home record, scoring 41 goals and conceding just 12 in the process.

Liverpool (28-1-2) received a nice gift from Chelsea last week, as they were crowned champions after Manchester City’s loss. It’s not like they were in danger of missing out, after all they are already 23 points ahead of Manchester City in the standings. Liverpool have been tremendous on the road as well (12-1-2), scoring 26 goals and conceding just nine in the process. However, they have now won any of their last four away matches in all competitions (0-3-1).
