Bayern Munich played a really careful match in the first leg in Liverpool and got what they wanted. The goal-less draw might not seem much but Bayern Munich now have to either replicate that result and go to extra time, or win by a slim deficit and qualify. They are undefeated in the Champions League this season (4-0-3) and haven’t lost any of their last ten home matches in the competition (8-0-2). They scored an average of 2.9 goals in that span and kept five clean sheets. Liverpool tried really hard in that match, especially in the first half where they have 11 scoring chances but just a single shot on target. The second half was much more balanced between the two teams but they were stuck at a blank draw. Liverpool struggled on the road this season, losing all three of their matches in the group stage. But they have been in pretty solid form overall lately, as they are undefeated in their last ten matches in all competitions (5-0-5).
