West Ham looked tremendous in the season opener against Newcastle and they will now look to make it 2 out of 2 when they will host Leicester on Monday. Leicester have also started the season in an excellent manner, winning both matches with clean sheets, but they do have a lot of injury concerns.
West Ham (1-0-0) did not make the best of starts in their season opener away at West Ham, as they conceded an early goal at the 5th minute. They pulled even at the 18th minute with Cresswell but Newcastle took the lead again at the 40th minute. West Ham were dominant in the second half, not allowing a single shot on their target, while they themselves had 9 chances with 6 shots on target. They pulled even again at the 53rd minute and then scored two more goals in a 10-minute span to take all 3 points from that 4-2 win.
Leicester (1-0-0) are coming off a two-sided match at home against Wolves, where they did eventually win by 1-0. They were very good in the first half, creating 7 scoring chances with 5 shots on target, while Wolves had no shots. Vardy took the lead at the 41st minute, assisted by Pereira, but they were tragic in the second half. Leicester had just 2 scoring chances and no shots on target, while Wolves had 14 scoring chances and 3 shots on target. Leicester held on to the result and grabbed all 3 points, but they have a LOT of injury concerns, with 6 defenders unavailable.
