LAFC vs Seattle 7/27/20 - MLS Picks & Predictions

The Seattle Sounders play LAFC on Monday in one of the round of 16 elimination fixtures in the knockout stage of the MLS is Back Tournament. Seattle earned a spot in the round of 16 following its impressive 3-0 victory over the Vancouver Whitecaps. Nicholas Lodeiro and Jordan Morris scored one goal and assisted on another in the Sounders victory on Sunday. Raul Ruidiaz scored Seattle's other goal in the victory giving the Sounders a 1-1-1 record on 4 points in Group B.

Seattle opened it's play in the MLS is Back Tournament with a 0-0 draw against San Jose followed by a 2-1 loss to the Chicago Fire. After two fixtures and just one point, it appeared as though Seattle would have a hard time moving through to the knockout stage but the Sounders behind excellent play from the front line defeated Vancouver easily and will now face a talented LAFC Club on Monday

LAFC finished second Group F following a 2-2 draw in its last match of group stage play against Portland. In the draw against Portland, LAFC received goals from Bradley Wright-Phillips and Mark-Anthony Kaye but a late equalizer by Portland pushed LAFC down into second place. The goal by Wright-Phillips was his third in as many starts for the club.

LAFC has not given up through any of its matches in the tournament. The club rallied from two goals down to draw with Houston 3-3 and rallied twice against LA Galaxy before finally scoring four straight and winning 6-2. Manager Bob Bradley has made sure the club has not missed striker Carlos Vela. There are questions remaining about the LAFC defense but the high-scoring club behind Wright-Phillips could make a deep run in this tournament.
