Colorado are one of the MLS teams that suffered upsets in the US Open Cup, as they bowed out to a theoretically inferior side. Technically that wasn’t a loss, at least not in the 90 minutes, so Colorado are still undefeated in their last seven. That streak will now be put to the test, as they will now host LAFC on Friday. LAFC have been in tremendous shape all season and will come here looking for points.

Colorado (4-9-4) took a two-goal lead on the road against Vancouver in their last match but ended up splitting the points in a 2-2 draw. Prior to that they played for another 2-2 draw at home against New Mexico for the US Open Cup and eventually lost. Even so, Colorado are undefeated in their last seven matches in all competitions (4-0-3). However, they are still stuck at the bottom of the Western Conference with 16 points. Most of their wins have come at home this season (3-4-2). LAFC (11-1-4) were tremendous in both US Open Cup matches, as they scored three goals in each match and moved on to the quarter-finals. LAFC have now won each of their last four matches and are undefeated in their last 10 (7-0-3). They are still leading the Western Conference with 27 points, six ahead of the LA Galaxy. LAFC also have the best away record of the Conference (4-1-3) and have only failed to score once on the road.

LAFC won both matches against Colorado last season, by 0-2 at home before a 3-0 on the road. Colorado have been in really good shape lately, especially compared to how they have done so far in the season. LAFC are probably the strongest team in the MLS right now and I can easily see this match featuring a lot of goals.
