LA Galaxy at Houston Dynamo 2/29/20 - MLS Picks & Predictions

Houston Dynamo had a pretty miserable season last year and finished at the depths of the Western Conference. They will now look to have a better season, but they will start with a tough match as they will host the LA Galaxy on Saturday. The LA Galaxy did a solid job but fell short in the Conference semi-finals.

The LA Galaxy finished at the 5th spot of the Western Conference last season, with 51 points and a 16-15-3 record. They were not anything special on the road, but still had the 5th best away record in the Conference (5-10-2). They overcame Minnesota United in the first round by 2-1 on the road but then lost to LAFC by 3-5 on the road and were eliminated. The Galaxy have not been very good in away matches in premieres, losing three of the last four.

Houston had a terrible season overall, mainly due to their weakness on the road. They settled at the 10th spot of the Western Conference with 40 points and a 12-18-4 record. They were excellent at home (10-3-4) but had the worst away record in the Conference (2-15-0). Houston have now finished eighth or worse in five of the last six season.

The two teams exchanged home wins last season, when the Galaxy won by 1-2 at home before falling by 2-4 in this venue. Houston have now lost just once in their last six matches against the Galaxy (3-1-2), with all six matches featuring at least three goals. Taking the home team to cover the spread on this one.
