Cincinnati will now return to MLS duties after a tough run in the US Open Cup, as they will host the LA Galaxy on Saturday. The LA Galaxy won big in their first match for the US Open Cup but met a devastating loss to Portland in the other match.

The LA Galaxy (9-6-1) had mixed results in the US Open Cup. After destroying Orange County by 0-3 at home they met a horrible 0-4 loss against Portland and were eliminated. The LA Galaxy were not in good shape prior to those two matches, losing five of their previous seven matches for the MLS. Even so, they are still sitting at the 2nd spot of the Western Conference with 28 points, nine behind LAFC. The Galaxy have been quite solid on the road so far (3-3-1), keeping four clean sheets in the process. Cincinnati (3-11-2) are coming off a bad loss in the US Open Cup when they fell by 0-1 on the road against Saint Louis and were eliminated. To make matters worse, Cincinnati have lost their last four MLS matches and nine of their last ten. They are still stuck at the bottom of the Eastern Conference with 11 points. Cincinnati also have the worst home record in the Conference (2-3-1), with half their matches featuring Over 2.5 Goals.
