Portland are coming off a nice win on the road and have actually been really strong over the past month and a half. They will now look to avoid the loss when they will play host to LAFC on Saturday. LAFC have been the best team in the MLS so far in the season and there are no signs of them slowing down.

Portland (4-6-2) were clinical in their finishing against Philadelphia on the road, as they beat their opponents by 3-1. The Timbers have been really strong lately with just one loss in their last six (4-1-1). However, they are still sitting at the 10th spot of the Western Conference with 14 points, now four behind the playoffs. This will actually be the first home match of the season for the Timbers, who have played all previous matches on the road. LAFC (10-1-4) are coming off a really strong 2-4 win at home against Montreal, in a match where they were leading by three goals by the 31st minute. LAFC extended their undefeated streak to seven matches (4-0-3) in what is probably their best season so far. They are still leading the Western Conference with 34 points, now six ahead of the LA Galaxy. LAFC have also been great on the road (3-1-3), failing to score in just their only loss.
