Philadelphia Union 0.0
Philadelphia Union are fighting to return to the top of the Eastern Conference. They are now up for a tough task, as they will host Western Conference leaders LAFC on Saturday. LAFC have dominated the league so far but are showing signs of relaxation lately.
LAFC (19-4-6) are coming into this match after splitting the points in a 2-2 draw on the road against Orlando City. The truth is that they have been tremendous all season, but they look more relaxed lately, failing to win each of their last three. They are still leading the Western Conference with 63 points and are still 17 points ahead of Real Salt Lake. LAFC have been really strong on the road as well, featuring the best away record in the MLS (8-3-4). Moreover, they have lost just one of their last six away matches and scored at least twice in all six.
Philadelphia Union (15-8-6) conceded a first half goal in their home match against Atlanta United but destroyed them in the second to eventually win by 1-3. They have now won four of their last five but they didn’t keep a single clean sheet in that span. Philadelphia are still 2nd in the Eastern Conference with 51 points, three behind the top. They have been really strong at home so far in the season (10-2-3) and are undefeated in their last seven matches there (5-0-2). But they kept just one clean sheet in the process.
LAFC will look to preserve their strengths ahead of the playoffs and will not go at full speed now that the regular season slowly draws to a close. I am going with Philadelphia to cover the spread here, in what can easily turn into a goal-fest.
