Keflavik at Hafnarfjordur 6/4/18 - Pepsideild Picks & Predictions
Two teams that have been in exact opposite sides of the Pepsideild league table will lock horns on Monday, when Hafnarfjordur will play host ot Keflavik. Hafnarfjordur have been really strong so far in the season, while Keflavik have not won a single match yet.
Hafnarfjordur (3-1-2) are coming into this match after a slim but really important 0-1 win at home against Akureyri in the Icelandic Cup. They moved to the quarter-finals of the competition and are also undefeated in their last five (3-0-2). Hafnarfjordur are now sitting at the 3rd spot of the league table with 11 points, just as many as Grindavik and Breidablik above them. However, Hafnarfjordur have not been as strong at home so far (1-1-1), with all three matches having featured goals from both sides. Keflavik (0-4-2) are having a really horrible season so far, as they have yet to win a single match. Last week they fell hard by 3-1 at home against the visiting Vestmannaeyjar, and they have now failed to win any of their last eight matches in all competitions (0-6-2). They are of course sitting at the bottom of the league table with just two points, featuring the worst offense with just 4 goals, and the 2nd worst defense with 10 conceded. Both points have actually come from away matches (0-1-2), but Keflavik have a lot of problems on both ends of the pitch.
Oddly enough, the last five matches between the two teams have been played in Keflavik's home ground, and they have won none (0-4-1). Hafnarfjordur have not lost to Keflavik since 2009, and that streak will surely continue after this match.
