Istanbul Basaksehir FK at RB Leipzig 10/20/20 - UEFA Champions League Picks & Predictions

Two teams that have had opposite starts in the season will lock horns on Tuesday for the Champions League, when RB Leipzig will play host to Basaksehir. The Germans have been undefeated in all their matches so far, while the Turks only recently celebrated their first win of the season. With PSG and Manchester United the other two teams in the group, this is a must-win match for both.

RB Leipzig have been really strong this season, despite the departure of key forward Timo Werner. Their goal-scoring potential remains high as ever, having scored multiple goals in four of their five matches so far, a total of 13 goals in five matches. They have only conceded twice in that span. RB Leipzig topped their Group last season (3-1-2) that also featured Lyon, Benfica and Zenit. They had a 1-1-1 record at home, conceding in all three matches. However, they beat Tottenham in both matches in the round of 16, eliminated Atletico Madrid in the quarters and eventually fell against PSG in the semis.

Basaksehir are coming off a slim 2-0 away win against Trabzonspor for their domestic league. However, that was their first win in the season after failing to score in each of their previous four matches. This doesn’t reflect the fact that last season they did a pretty solid job in the Europa League. Finished top of their group (Roma, Gladbach, Wolfsberger) and then beat Sporting Lisbon in the round of 16. Even so, they lost badly against Copenhagen in the quarter-finals. Basaksehir have done poorly on the road in 2020 (5-7-3), losing five of their last six.
