Inter Milan started the season with a dominant win at home over Genoa. They will now travel to Verona where they will be hosted by Hellas Verona. Verona did start the season on a positive note with a win in the Cup but they failed to get any points from the season opener against Sassuolo.
Verona (0-1-0) are coming off a tough 3-2 loss at home against Sassuolo last week, in a match where they actually fought really hard. They conceded an early goal at the 32nd minute and then saw Veloso receive two yellow cards in a 10-minute span, leaving them with 10 men on the pitch. They conceded another goal at the 51st minute, but did come back with a penalty kick at the 71st, only to concede another goal at the 77th minute. Their last goal at the 90th minute was nothing more of a consolation goal for the final 3-2 loss. Prior to that they beat Catanzaro by 3-0 at home in the first round of the Coppa Italia.
Inter Milan (1-0-0) did an excellent job in the season opener, where they blasted Genoa by 4-0 at home. Newly-signed playmaker Calhanoglu made an early impression assisting Skriniar for the first goal at the 6th minute, while Calhanoglu himself scored another goal at the 14th minute. Inter Milan scored two late goals with Vidal and Dzeko and eventually won that match by an easy 4-0. They are now sitting at the top of the league with the best goal differential, and they will need to repeat last season’s success, both at home and on the road, in order to win the title once again.
