There is a huge match taking place in Match-day 9 of the 2020 Euro Cup Qualifiers, when Turkey will play host to Iceland. The two teams are fighting for one of the two top spots of the group that grant a ticket to the group stage of the 2020 Euro Cup. Turkey are at an advantage here, while Iceland only need a win.

Iceland (5-3-0) are coming off what was expected to be a pretty easy match against Andorra at home. They did win, but only by a slim 0-2, in what was a solid performance. Iceland really needed that win, as prior to that they had lost to France and Albania. Iceland are now sitting at the 3rd spot of the Group with 15 points, four behind France and Turkey. Their last match is against Moldova, so a win here would most likely see them through to the next round.

Turkey (6-1-1) have been in tremendous shape so far in the qualifiers, and are coming off another strong result, when they split the points in a 1-1 draw on the road against France. That draw kept Turkey at the top of the group with 19 points, just as many as France below them. Turkey have been phenomenal at home so far (4-0-0) scoring eight goals and keeping four clean sheets.

Iceland did a great job to beat Turkey by 1-2 at home in the first round and have now won each of their last three matches against this opponent. They have been tremendous in this match-up over the years (7-2-2) and have stood strong on Turkish soil (2-2-1). Turkey have not yet conceded at home, but Iceland want nothing other that a win here. I expect a tough, physical match, with Over 2.5 Goals.
