Iceland at Belgium 11/15/18 - UEFA Nations League Picks & Predictions

Belgium did a solid job in the World Cup this summer and have actually been pretty good in the UEFA Nations League so far. They will now look for a third win that will put them at the top of the group, when they will host Iceland on Thursday. Iceland were great in the EURO Cup and the World Cup but have been terrible in this competition.

Belgium (2-0-0) recorded a really comfortable 0-3 win at home in the premiere, where they hosted Iceland. After that they played host to Switzerland, where they didn’t have such an easy work. They were only slightly better in the first half but the two teams entered the break tied at 0-0. Belgium took the lead at the 58th minute with Lukaku, but Switzerland were excellent in the second half. They balanced the match out and pulled even at the 76th minute, only to see Lukaku score the winning goal at the 84th minute for the final 1-2. Belgium are now sitting at the 2nd spot of the Group in a tied with leaders Switzerland, but with a match in hand. Iceland (0-3-0) have been steadily improving their overall level in recent years, but they have been really bad in their last two competitions. They looked really good in their draw against the mighty Argentina in their first ever World Cup match, but were eventually eliminated. Iceland would like to shine in the UEFA Nations League but were placed in a really tough group. They started off with a massive 0-6 loss to Switzerland, only to double their losses with a tough 3-0 at home against Belgium. They fought hard at home against Switzerland in their last match but were eventually defeated by 2-1 and have now been mathematically demoted to the League B.
